TANGERINE PENSIONS

Data Recapture.

Why do you need to update your information with Tangerine Pensions Pensions?

In line with Section 5.3 of the Revised Guidelines on Registration of Retirement Savings Account (RSA) holders (2019) issued by the National Pension Commission (the Commission), Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) are mandated to undertake a Data Recapture Exercise until the last RSA holder existing on the Contributor Registration System (CRS) is recaptured. The guideline requires all Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) to obtain complete and accurate data of their Retirement Savings Account (RSA) customers (both active and retired) in line with Section 23(e) of the Pension Reform Act (PRA).

The Data Recapture Exercise was to be conducted via the newly deployed Enhanced Contributor Registration System (ECRS), which replaced the CRS. The ECRS is an electronic platform designed by the Commission for PFAs to carry out bio-data updates and edits of their clients’ information on the National Databank maintained by the National Pension Commission.

Coverage of the Data Recapture Exercise

The Data Recapture Exercise is a mandatory exercise for all RSA holders who joined the contributory pension scheme (CPS) prior to 1st of July 2019 to update their information with their respective Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs). This therefore means that members of the CPS who joined the scheme from 1st July 2019 are not affected as they would have been duly registered through the ECRS.

The Objectives of the Data Recapture Exercise:

  • Eliminate duplicate accounts
We are required to link your National Identity Number (NIN) to your RSA account to eliminate duplicates and ensure compliance with the National minimum bio-data requirements.
  • Improve data integrity
By identifying and eliminating multiple registrations from the RSA Registration Database, we can improve the overall integrity of your data
  • Capture up-to-date information
We may need to update your information to comply with the minimum standards and requirements set by PenCom for the registration of contributors
